Global shipyard projects – from design to optimization
OMT is an internationally recognized maritime centre of excellence for the global shipbuilding industry, with deep-rooted expertise in shipbuilding and MRO services. Hence, the company is widely trusted for advisory services within design and construction of shipyards as well as production processes and optimization.
In this role, you will engage in a wide variety of projects, ranging from design and construction to the optimization of key production processes and equipment at international shipyards. Among your key responsibilities are:
-
Provide technical and operational advisory to shipyards and shipyard management.
-
Contribute to the development and application of production and maintenance concepts.
-
Participate in client projects within design and construction, MRO, and shipyard optimization.
-
Support sales and proposal activities with strong technical reliability.
-
Engage with both technical stakeholders and decision-makers.
-
Assess shipyard processes, capacities, and improvement potential.
-
Represent the company in international settings.
This role involves significant international travelling activities, and you will have a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in international projects focused on modern shipbuilding concepts, production processes, methods, and technologies.
Your shipyard experience and technical foundation
You most likely hold a degree in engineering, for example within marine, production, or a related discipline, and you bring solid, hands-on experience from shipyards. Proven experience in shipbuilding, ship maintenance, or ship management is essential, as is a strong understanding of shipyard processes, including production, planning, and/or maintenance. Whether your experience is founded in operations, MRO, process optimization or technology is not decisive, if your motivation lies in consulting, optimizing and identifying value-creating solutions and concepts.
You are comfortable working on complex and technically demanding projects. Your experience enables you to quickly grasp operational challenges and contribute with practical, value-adding solutions. You are used to working across disciplines and collaborating with production teams, engineers, and management.
International experience is an advantage, and the ability to communicate fluently in business English is required, both written and spoken. Additional language skills are considered a plus.
As a person, you are professional, structured, and you naturally build trust in your dialogue with international clients, and you feel confident engaging with both technical specialists and senior decision-makers.
An opportunity to make an impact on the global maritime industry
Step into a role where your expertise truly makes a difference. You will join a leading maritime knowledge centre that brings together the full spectrum of disciplines required to stay ahead of industry developments and deliver high-impact, world-class advisory services.
You will become part of an organisation with short decision-making processes and a strong, collaborative culture - where professional ambition, knowledge sharing, and team spirit go hand in hand.
In this role, you will work closely with international shipyards, key decision-makers, and leading industrial players across the globe. You will have the opportunity to apply your shipyard experience in a more strategic and forward-looking context - while actively contributing to the development of new industrial solutions and concepts that shape the future of the maritime industry.
