Jobdetaljer
Jobbeskrivelse
DTU is strengthening its collaboration with Rigshospitalet in the Technical University Hospital (TUH). We aim to create a coherent innovation pathway from identification of unmet clinical needs through exploration, prototyping and validation to startup formation and commercialisation.
DTU Entrepreneurship is looking for an experienced Special Consultant to coordinate and further develop this HealthTech innovation pipeline. You will work at the intersection of technology, healthcare, education, entrepreneurship and commercialisation. A central part of the role will be to connect existing DTU and hospital activities into a functioning pathway. We will ensure that promising HealthTech opportunities can progress between educational programmes, clinical environments, prototyping activities and venture development.
You will collaborate closely with DTU Entrepreneurship, TUH, Rigshospitalet, DTU Skylab and TUH Skylab, relevant DTU departments, clinicians, course responsibles, students and external ecosystem partners.
The job
You will coordinate DTU Entrepreneurship's contribution to the TUH HealthTech innovation initiative. Further contribute hands-on to the development and maturation of selected HealthTech opportunities.
Your primary tasks will include:
- Coordinating the HealthTech innovation initiative across DTU, hospitals and other key stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining a HealthTech innovation pipeline from clinical need identification to venture creation.
- Supporting the identification and prioritisation of unmet clinical needs in collaboration with clinicians and other experts.
- Providing business development and commercialisation support to selected HealthTech projects, including market assessment, business models, partnerships and funding.
- Mentoring multidisciplinary student teams and potential founders through teaching, coaching and venture development activities.
- Engaging relevant external stakeholders and contributing to the continued development of DTU's HealthTech innovation ecosystem.
You will have a high degree of independence in planning and executing activities while working closely with the TUH leadership and key stakeholders.
We are looking for
A senior profile with strong experience in HealthTech innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialisation. We expect that you have:
- An MSc degree in engineering, technology or a related scientific discipline.
- Proven experience in developing and commercialising healthcare technologies from early-stage innovation to venture creation or market implementation.
- Experience working across the healthcare, university and startup ecosystems.
- Strong business development and commercialisation skills, including market assessment, business model development and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and facilitation skills.
- Professional proficiency in Danish and English.
It will be an advantage if you have:
- Founder or senior leadership experience from a MedTech or life-science company.
- A PhD or additional education in business, innovation or entrepreneurship.
- Experience with fundraising, partnerships or innovation funding programmes.
What we offer in return
You will become part of DTU Entrepreneurship and work closely with colleagues across DTU and the Technical University Hospital collaboration. The position offers an opportunity to play a central role in developing a new university-hospital HealthTech innovation pipeline. This means to work with projects spanning clinical unmet needs, engineering, entrepreneurship, prototyping and venture creation.
You will interact with a broad ecosystem of clinicians, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, industry representatives, investors and innovation organisations. You will contribute to establishing a capability intended to remain beyond the present project period.
The role combines strategic development with hands-on engagement in individual innovation and venture projects.
