Jobbeskrivelse

We are looking for enthusiastic international volunteers who want to help establish a new softball/baseball community in Aalborg, Northern Jutland, Denmark.

Our ambition is to create a welcoming local sports community where children, young people, and adults can discover softball, make friends, develop new skills, and become part of something meaningful.

But first, we need people who want to help make it happen!

This is a new initiative, and the club is not yet established. We are looking for people who would like to help build it from the beginning — whether that means coaching, organizing activities, helping run the project, or becoming part of the group that establishes the new club.

You don't need to be a softball/baseball expert. What matters most is your enthusiasm, ideas, and willingness to contribute.

How would you like to get involved?

There are several ways to be part of this initiative. You can focus on one area or combine different roles, depending on your interests and availability.

1. Coaching and sports activities

Help introduce softball to children and young people and make it a fun, positive experience.

You could:

  • Help plan and run beginner-friendly training sessions.
  • Share your experience from softball, baseball, or another team sport.
  • Help children develop their skills, confidence, and friendships.
  • Encourage new players to try the sport and become part of a team.

Previous coaching experience is welcome but not required. A positive attitude and an interest in working with people are just as important.

2. Community building and activities

A great sports club is about much more than what happens on the field. It's also about friendships, belonging, and bringing people together.

You could help:

  • Organize introductory events and activities for local families.
  • Welcome new members and help them feel at home.
  • Develop ideas for growing the softball/baseball community in Aalborg.
  • Support communication, recruitment, events, or other practical tasks.

You don't need to be a coach to make a real difference.

3. Help establish the new club

Would you like to take a more active role in creating something from scratch?

We are also looking for people interested in helping establish and develop the new club itself. This could include becoming part of the founding group, helping form the club's board, or contributing with organizational skills and ideas.

Depending on your interests and experience, you could help with:

  • Developing the club's vision, values, and activities.
  • Building the founding team and establishing the club's organization.
  • Planning membership, recruitment, finances, and practical arrangements.
  • Helping develop partnerships and connections within the local community.
  • Taking on a board role or another organizational responsibility.

You don't need previous experience running a Danish sports club. Experience with project management, administration, communication, finance, community activities, or voluntary organizations could be extremely valuable.

You could help create not just a sports team, but an entirely new local community.

Who are we looking for?

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Enjoy sports, community activities, or bringing people together.
  • Have ideas and would like to help turn them into reality.
  • Are interested in volunteering and contributing to local life in Aalborg.
  • Enjoy working with people from different backgrounds.
  • Have skills or experience you would like to share.

We welcome people from all nationalities and backgrounds. Whether you are an international student, a newcomer to Denmark, an international professional, or a long-time resident of Aalborg, there could be a place for you.

You don't need to speak Danish to get involved. English is a great starting point.

What will you gain?

Volunteering is also an opportunity for you to learn, connect, and grow.

  • Meet new people and make friends in Aalborg and Northern Jutland.
  • Become part of a local community and help shape its future.
  • Share your culture, experience, and ideas.
  • Gain experience in coaching, leadership, project development, or community building.
  • Learn more about Danish club culture and foreningsliv.
  • Help create something that children, families, and future generations can enjoy.

You can choose how much responsibility you want to take on. Perhaps you can help occasionally, coach regularly, contribute a particular skill, or take on a more active role in establishing the club.

We want to find a role that fits your interests, skills, and availability.

Where and when?

The initiative is based in Aalborg, Northern Jutland, Denmark.

Since this is a new initiative, the activities, structure, and volunteer roles will be developed together with the people who get involved. This is an opportunity to help shape what the future club will look like.

Interested? Let's start a conversation!

You don't need to have all the answers or make a long-term commitment from day one. Perhaps you have played softball or baseball, perhaps you have experience organizing community activities, or perhaps you simply want to help create something positive in Aalborg.

Whatever your background, we'd love to hear from you.

Let's bring people together, build a new club, and put softball on the map in Northern Jutland!

Get in touch to learn more and explore how you could be part of the initiative.
