The facility is internationally recognised for its expertise in industrial and medical dosimetry and provides accredited calibration, measurement, validation and consultancy services to industry, hospitals, authorities and international partners. The facility includes the High Dose Reference Laboratory (HDRL) and medical dosimetry activities and serves as a trusted provider of radiation measurement and quality assurance services in Denmark and internationally.

As Head of Dosimetry, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of approximately 10 highly skilled employees. You will ensure a motivating and inclusive work environment, support the professional development of staff and set the strategic direction for the facility in close collaboration with the Head of the Department and leadership team at Health Technology, DTU.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Setting the professional and scientific direction for the facility, ensuring that its expertise is continuously developed and translated into new opportunities, partnerships and high-quality services.
  • Positioning the facility to remain at the international forefront of industrial and medical dosimetry by actively identifying emerging needs, technologies and application areas.
  • Leading the facility in accordance with DTU's leadership principles, fostering trust, collaboration, accountability and professional excellence.
  • Exercising visible and engaging people leadership for a team of approximately 10 employees.
  • Supporting employee well-being, performance, competence development and engagement.
  • Ensuring the continued development and delivery of high-quality dosimetry services and scientific expertise.
  • Maintaining and developing collaborations with industrial customers and partners, healthcare organisations, authorities and international stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with accreditation, quality assurance and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing resources, budgets and operational priorities.
  • Supporting innovation, business development and opportunities arising from Dosimetry’s research and technical capabilities.
  • Strengthening collaboration with other departments and research environments within DTU.

Our expectations of you

We are looking for an experienced leader with a PhD degree and relevant working experience within dosimetry, combined with a strong motivation to develop people, build a collaborative team culture and contribute to the broader development of DTU Health Tech.

You likely bring:

  • Demonstrated experience with people leadership and responsibility for employee development, performance and well-being.
  • Experience leading teams of highly specialised professionals in a knowledge-intensive organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build trust and motivation across diverse employee groups.
  • Experience with strategic planning, stakeholder management and organisational development.
  • A collaborative leadership style aligned with DTU's values and leadership approach.
  • A PhD degree or equivalent qualifications within medical and industrial dosimetry.
  • Leadership experience from a university or a research institution.
  • Experience with accredited laboratories, quality management systems and regulated environments.

What we offer in return

At DTU Health Tech, you will join an ambitious and collaborative organisation dedicated to developing technologies that improve health and quality of life.

You will lead a facility with a strong international reputation, highly competent employees and a unique combination of scientific excellence and societal impact.

The position offers a significant opportunity to influence the future development of a strategically important area within DTU Health Tech. The facility delivers internationally traceable dosimetry services, supports radiation processing and sterilisation activities, and maintains long-standing relationships with industry, healthcare and public-sector stakeholders.

You will be part of an ambitious and experienced leadership team, and you will report directly to the head of department.
