Automation Engineer

We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer to join our Svanehoj Singapore Team located in Svenstrup Denmark and play a key role in developing and delivering high-quality automation solutions. In this position, you will work closely with both Sales and project teams, contributing across the full lifecycle from early sales support to project execution. You will take ownership of automation deliverables and help drive continuous improvement and standardization within our solutions. The role offers a strong mix of technical responsibility, collaboration, and development opportunities. What do we offer?

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting projects across both the sales and order execution phases from an automation perspective. Acting as the product owner on the electrical and automation side, you will collaborate closely with Sales as well as cross-functional project teams, including Project Managers, Technical Leads, and Documentation Leads. You will be the primary technical responsible for automation solutions, ensuring high-quality delivery in both project execution and project development. The position offers a dynamic mix of hands-on engineering, technical ownership, and strategic development of automation solutions.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the technical lead for automation solutions during both project execution and development
• Developing and maintaining PLC and application software for projects and products
• Driving standardization, harmonization, and continuous improvement of automation solutions
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of the automation product roadmap
• Designing and dimensioning industrial control panels in compliance with requirements and relevant standards
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting for automation-related challenges
• Preparing and ensuring high-quality automation documentation and supplier specifications

Who are you?

You are a skilled automation engineer with a strong electrical engineering background and experience working with complex technical solutions. You take ownership, work in a structured way, and ensure high-quality delivery. You are detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable managing multiple tasks. Additionally, you are open to limited amount of travel as part of the role.

We imagine that you bring the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (alternatively a Marine Engineer degree with strong electrical focus/experience)
• Minimum +5 years of experience within Electrical Engineering, preferably with rotary machinery
• A solid technical understanding of automation and electrical systems
• A structured and solution-oriented approach to your work
• Willingness to travel approximately 10-20 days per year
