Become a volunteer at Make My Friday – we are looking for a Ukrainian-speaking volunteer!

Make My Friday is FISKENS' Friday café for young refugees and newcomers between the ages of 13 and 24. We meet for creative workshops, excursions and joint activities – a free space with room for laughter, conversation and language training in a safe environment.

Right now we are particularly looking for a Ukrainian-speaking volunteer, as many of the young people who come to the café are from Ukraine. Therefore, it is a requirement that you can speak Ukrainian as well as Danish or English, so that you can help create security and build bridges between the young people and the community.

We are looking for you who:

• Speaks Ukrainian and Danish or English (required)
• Is curious and good at taking initiative
• Loves to be creative, play games, bake or come up with fun activities
• Want to spend every other Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM with young people
• Are over 25 years old

As a volunteer, you help to:

• Creating community and strengthening the well-being of young people
• Give young people a good start to the weekend
• Helping young people practice Danish and English in a safe and informal environment
• Create security and support for our Ukrainian youth through common language and understanding

You will become part of a committed volunteer group and will receive both professional and social communities as part of the package.

Every other Friday at 2:00 PM-7:00 PM

Who are we?

FISKEN is a non-profit NGO that has existed for 42 years. We are an open and free service that helps over 500 young people between the ages of 13 and 24 every year. FISKEN consists of various services with a focus on leisure jobs, community and education. We work from a narrative pedagogical approach and consist of 50 employees, 80% of whom are volunteers.
