XENTA is a state-of-the-art X-Band FMCW sensor system, developed for high-performance 3D air surveillance of all types of air threats. XENTA has quickly gained market share and Weibel now needs to ramp up the Bid Management team to meet the growing demand for our radars. About the position
The Bid Management team provides technical and bid management support to the Sales teams globally to deliver compelling and winning bids. As a Technical Bid Manager in the Surveillance Business Line, you will join a growing team focusing on taking Weibel’s new Surveillance sensors to market. The Technical Bid Manager will play an important role in supporting prospective customers at pre-bid and bid phase. The Technical Bid Manager will act as the hub between Product Management, R&D and Sales teams.
The position will require a high level of self-drive and require you to take ownership of tasks related to shaping and capturing opportunities in the pipeline.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Manage end to end technical aspects in the bid process in close liaison with Sales, Product Management, R&D and Programme Management
- Participate at technical exchange meetings with customers throughout the bid process from early engagement up to contract signature
- Translate complex technical requirements into tangible and compelling proposals for customers
- Act as a point of contact for technical queries and support the Sales team at technical meetings with customers
- Drive and own technical input towards Statement of Works in collaboration with Product Management, R&D and Programme Management
- Support Product Management by providing input for new Product Requirements as well as building up tools for the Sales team
- Play a role throughout the sales cycle from qualifying an opportunity up to contract signature
Travel around 30 days per year can be expected.
About you
You have prior experience in Technical Product Management or a relevant Engineering discipline within the Defence Industry or similar in technical complexity. Alternatively, you are keen to transition from Engineering into a technically commercial role, leveraging your existing knowledge and experience. This role involves applying your technical expertise to support customer engagement and technical sales activities. Experience with radar and sensor systems will be considered an important advantage.
Your resume includes:
- A relevant educational background within Engineering
- Proven track record in the Defence Industry is an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, international, and complex environment
- Experience with sensor systems, preferably radars would be a strong advantage
- Experience with, or strong interest in working within a Product Sales Organization
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks whilst maintaining sight or overview of important details
- Time management skills, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and follow up
- English at negotiation level is a must (spoken and written)
- Danish is an advantage but not a requirement
