Your contribution is appreciated
As our new Field Application Engineer, you will work directly with the design and development of integration solutions for demanding communication environments. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and debug prototype solutions and interface hardware
- Investigate new interfaces and turn requirements into practical integration solutions
- Create interface and integration documentation
- Support integration of networked and IP-based communication systems
- Work with USB communication and relevant standards
- Adjust audio profile software for optimum results
- Use basic electronics lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and USB analyzers/tracers for troubleshooting and validation
- Understand power flow and power-related behavior in integrated systems
- Document your work and development
- Travel approximately 10 days per year

Experienced engineer with solid system understanding
You are meticulous and systematic in your approach to tasks. You are known as a collaborative colleague who focuses on delivering high-quality and innovative solutions. In the face of challenges, you maintain a solution-oriented approach and are willing to challenge those around you when you see room for improvement. You are comfortable with shifting priorities and willing and able to travel on short notice.
To perform well in the role, we imagine that you have:
- A solid technical foundation in hardware, software and system integration
- Some years of experience bringing different systems together into working solutions
- Experience creating schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation
- Some knowledge of networking and IP-based communication
- Familiarity with tactical radios or similar communication systems
- Some knowledge of USB communication and relevant standards
- A practical engineering approach, including prototype work, soldering and lab-based debugging
- Understanding of EMC design principles
- Proficient written and spoken English
We encourage you to apply
Even if you don’t match all the above-mentioned skills, we welcome your application if you think you have transferable skills. We highly value a mindset and motivation that align with our core values, to not only ensure growth for you, but for your team and the wider GN organization as well.
