Service & Commissioning Engineer

We are looking for extra colleagues who will be responsible for performing service on vessels around the globe. The job offers extensive travel, hands-on work at sea and in ports, and the chance to collaborate in a diverse and international environment.

About the job

As our new service and commissioning engineers you will travel to vessels in ports/shipyards all over the world to perform service, fault finding, combustion adjustment, system upgrades, renewal of control systems etc. Some jobs are completed in port/shipyard, others are completed at sea.

Before doing jobs by yourself, you will have a training period where you follow an experienced colleague from Global Boiler Services A/S.

The job requires you to be very flexible, sometimes you will have to travel to a ship or port with short notice – also during weekends and during public holidays. With that said, you will have a high influence on your daily work and a job that includes substantial freedom with responsibility.

The job is a chance to work in a position where you get to see the world and cooperate with people in a multicultural environment. You are expected to travel 180 days a year.

About you

You hold an education as an Automation Technician, Industrial Electrician, marine engineer or similar and bring experience with electrical fault finding in relay-based controls systems, PID controllers and/or AC-drives. Furthermore, we are looking for some who:

• Have experience in PLC programming
• Have flair for understanding mechanics and electrical systems
• Are comfortable working on your own and capable of creating a structured work process
• You have extensive experience with the Microsoft Office programs and general PC use
• You are fluent in English both oral and written

Due to the travel activity, we expect you to have:

• a Driver’s license (B)
• a clean criminal record and a valid passport
• Never been refused a VISA application
• A “Health Certificate for Seafarers and Fishermen” or can obtain one
• You have worked with boilers/steam plants (preferred)

We would prefer if you have worked on vessels before, however, it’s not a requirement.
